Distributed Function Discovery Protocol for Service Setup in Home Network and Its Expansion to the Internet

We propose a distributed function discovery protocol for a service setup in a home network, and we expand this service setup method into the Internet connected to a home network. A query used by this protocol contains both necessary functions and a topology of them for a requested service, and a response contains the IDs of discovered functions. By sending and receiving the query and response, the functions necessary for the service are discovered. We expand the service setup method using the protocol into the environment in which a home network and the Internet are connected each other. We implement the protocol and conduct an experiment in the home network environment. The result shows validness of the protocol for the function discovery.
