Outline of Research

Our goal is to develop a data oriented real-time information analysis platform for sustainable fishery, which is both environmentally and economically efficient. In our project, we accumulate various big data that relates to ocean weather and fishery, and develop AI technologies that analyze the big data. The technologies include high-precision sea weather forecasting and estimation of good fishing spot from ocean big data. Research

We are aiming for a new application of pattern recognition technology by cooperation with the field of ocean meteorology / fisheries science and information science (especially pattern recognition technology using images). Specifically, we are working on the following themes. Development of an algorithm to support fishery by extracting image features from the sea condition pattern and clarifying the relationship between the feature and the catch amount Development of algorithms for restoring sea status information lost by clouds in satellite images using learning type inpainting from images and two-dimensional flow from the most recent sea state patterns.
